I'm Alisha, I own the studio and I'm the one behind the camera, and Lake Havasu is one of the drives our clients make most often, with women from Bullhead City and Laughlin making the trip too.

How far is the studio from Bullhead City and Lake Havasu?

From Bullhead City it's about forty five minutes up 68, and from Lake Havasu City it's about an hour, most of it on I-40, so it's a morning of driving and you sleep in your own bed that night.

We are the little blue house with the white porch at 721 E. Beale St. in downtown Kingman, and that's the only stop you're making all day.

How many times do I have to make the drive?

Once, and this is the part that surprises women who assumed boudoir meant three trips to Kingman.

Your consult is a phone call with someone on our team, so you can do it from your couch in Havasu or on your lunch break in Bullhead, and nobody asks you to come in to talk about it first.

Your session is the one day you're actually here, and then your reveal is a separate appointment about three to five weeks later, once your images are edited, and it happens online on a call where we walk through your gallery together and you choose what you want.

So the drive you're worried about is one drive, and the rest happens from home.

What time should I book if I'm coming from out of town?

Sessions run Monday through Friday, and if you're driving in from the river or the lake, a 10:00 start is the one I'd pick for you because you're done and headed home with the rest of your afternoon still yours.

Plan on two and a half to three hours at the studio from the minute you walk in, with about ninety minutes of that in the glam chair and about an hour of actual shooting, and the rest is wardrobe changes and breathing.

What do I need to pack for the drive?

Less than you think, and that's the whole point of the client closet.

Come with a bare face, because hair and makeup is included in your session fee on a full session and it happens right here at the studio, so there's no getting glammed in Bullhead and then sweating it off in the car for forty five minutes.

Bring the pieces you already feel good in, and a good rule is one outfit you feel safe in and one you've never had the guts to wear, because it's almost always the second one you end up obsessed with. If you forget something on the kitchen counter in Havasu, we pull from the client closet and that's the end of that problem.

Can a friend drive down with me?

Yes, for the ride and for the glam chair, and no for the shoot itself.

Your session is yours and nobody else's, so friends and partners don't sit in while we're shooting, because the minute there's an audience in the room you start performing for her instead of settling in and forgetting about the camera.

The one exception is the hair and makeup hour, so if walking in alone is the thing keeping you from booking, bring your person for the glam chair and she heads out before we start shooting.

What actually happens once I get there?

We keep more than ten sets up at any given time, so you move from room to room through your session instead of standing in front of one backdrop for an hour, and the sets get changed and updated through the year, which is why women who come back don't end up with the same session twice.

You don't need to know how to pose, because posing you is literally my job, and I tell you where to put your hands, where to look and when to breathe, and by the second set most women forget I'm even in the room.

That's usually when the images happen that make you look like a true baddie, and you'll see the full run of the day on the experience.

What if I want to wait until I lose the weight first?

I'd rather say this plainly than sell around it, because the women who say they'll book when they lose twenty pounds have usually been saying it for years, and the body they were waiting to be done with is the one they'd love to have photos of now.

Nothing about this session needs you to be smaller, because the lighting, the posing and the wardrobe are doing the work of showing you at your best, and that's true at every size I photograph.

And honestly, the forty five minutes up 68 was never the real reason you haven't booked, and you probably already know that.

When do I get my photos, and do I have to come back for them?

No, you don't come back, because your reveal is online, about three to five weeks after your session.

We go through everything together on the call and you choose your images, your digitals come to you that day, and printed products take about eight weeks.

We do not do same day reveals, because the editing is what makes these look the way they do and it's not something I rush, even for the women with the longest drive.

What does a boudoir session cost?

Pricing comes on your consult call, and that's on purpose, because what you spend depends on how many images you want, whether you want an album or digitals or both, and what payment plan you want to run before your session day.

Most women book three to four months ahead so that plan has time to run, which also gives you time to pick a weekday you can take off without anybody asking questions.
